Pablo Picasso "Homme au Chapeau et Femme Nue" (27.2.68) — Rare Vintage 1969 Offset Lithograph

A rare vintage Picasso from the final weeks of his most intensely documented drawing campaign. Dated 27 February 1968 — just two weeks before the Dessins publication's closing date — this authorized offset lithograph captures one of Picasso's most personal and recurring late-period themes: a clothed older man, mustachioed and holding a hat, seated before a large reclining female nude. A candelabra rises between them. The dynamic is unmistakably part self-portrait, part theatre, part desire. Scholars have long identified this voyeur figure as Picasso's alter ego, influenced by Manet's Déjeuner sur l'herbe and his own lifelong obsession with the artist-and-model relationship.
